# Privacy Controls

> Manage your privacy preferences, cookie consent, and AI processing settings

## Overview

Adminest provides comprehensive privacy controls to help you manage your personal data. These controls support compliance with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, the Australian Privacy Act, and the NZ Privacy Act.

## Privacy Settings

Access your privacy controls from **Settings > Privacy**.

### Do Not Sell or Share

Toggle this setting to opt out of any personal information sharing under CCPA/CPRA. You can find it in **Settings > Privacy**. If your browser sends the **Global Privacy Control (GPC)** signal, this is automatically enabled.

### AI Processing Controls

You have granular control over how AI processes your data:

* **Document Analysis** — AI summary and classification on upload
* **Task Extraction** — Automatic task suggestions from documents
* **Chat Assistant** — AI chat responses about your documents
* **Email Summarisation** — AI summaries for email-forwarded documents
* **Restrict All** — A single toggle to pause all AI processing (GDPR Art 18)

<Note>
  When AI processing is disabled, your documents are still stored securely — just without AI-generated summaries, tasks, or chat threads.

### Cookie Preferences

Manage your cookie preferences from the Privacy section or via the cookie consent banner. Categories include:

| Functional | Theme preferences and display settings | Yes          |

### Data Correction

Under GDPR Article 16, you can request corrections to your personal data. Name and email changes are applied automatically. AI-generated data corrections are reviewed by an administrator.

Our [Trust Centre](https://www.adminest.com/trust) is the plain-language summary of how we protect your most sensitive documents — encryption in transit and at rest, verified access, our privacy controls, responsible AI, where your data is hosted, and the sub-processors we rely on. ## Data Retention

* **Chat conversations** are retained while your account is active and can be deleted from the AI Assistant page.
* **Document analysis** (summaries, tasks) is retained alongside documents.
* **All data** is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
